In July, our Overall Chair Dr. Karin Estepa-Garcia and the Local Organizing Team had the opportunity to visit Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas.
The group discussed potential avenues of collaboration among WONCA-APR, the PAFP, and the City Mayor’s Office to ensure that WONCA Iloilo is an unforgettable experience for local and international attendees alike. Following our meeting, Mayor Treñas shared news of the visit on social media, declaring her support for our upcoming conference and what it means for the larger Iloilo community.
“Pledged our support for the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians for the World Organization of Family Doctors Conference, and their tour here in the city. This opportunity will help us understand a more effective implementation of the universal healthcare and to share our best practices. We are hoping that through this, medical services will be more accessible for everyone.”
