Derya Guner, MD, CIPS was born in 1985. She completed her medical education at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 2009. Between 2009 and 2014, she completed her neurology specialization training at İzmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital. From 2015 to 2017, she completed her fellowship in Algology (Pain Physician) at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. Since 2017, she has been working as a pain physician and in 2024, she earned the title of associated professor in the field of pain medicine. 

She is a member of the Turkish Neurology Society, the Turkish Pain Society, the World Institute of Pain (WIP) and the Turkey Section of the WIP. Her special interests include chronic primary headaches, neuropathic pain, musculoskeletal and spine-related chronic pain and ultrasound-guided interventional pain treatments. 

She holds several certifications, including: Turkish Neurology Board Certificate (Turkish Neurology Society, 2014),European Neurology Board Certificate (Berlin, 2015),Turkish Algology Board Certificate (Turkish Pain Society, 2019), Certified Interventional Pain Sonologist (CIPS) Certificate (World Institute of Pain, Istanbul, 2019). 

Dr. Güner has published researches, book chapters, conferences in various national and international congresses and ultrasound course instructor duties in the field of pain medicine.
